It is this mindset of gathering as much information and forming as many chains of association until we find that clue that puts us on the trail of the alleged security incident

Securiosity is also the responsibility to stand by decisions made; when acting on unknown incidents requires a second pair of eyes to back up a decision or take an alternative path.

Applying for jobs in the Cyber Defence Centre

Securiosity is a matter of attitude.
For most applicants, we recognise during the interview whether they have Securiosity or not.

As a rule, we offer those we are sure about the prospect of working with us at the Cyber Defence Center as a working student, IT security analyst, IT security engineer or in another position during the same interview.

Working students or graduates who are usually completing or have completed their Master's degree in IT security or computer science learn the job of IT security analyst in a six-month training programme with us.

This training, which working students complete alongside their studies, is part of the ConSecur Academy catalogue, which trains IT professionals to become specialists in information security.

From one shift in the Cyber Defence Centre to another Information must flow

In the Cyber Defence Centre, one shift takes over from the other every eight hours. In handovers, we share the most important events and bring the next shift up to speed.

We know that successful cyber defence is teamwork. Even the most advanced technology is only an effective support if the people involved have the essentials in mind and work together in a coordinated manner.

That's why we take care to select information according to relevance.

The raison d'être of cyber defence is to detect security incidents before the worst happens. This systematic system of early detection works if cyber defence is set up properly and its importance is understood by everyone involved.

We take a very thorough approach right from the start. We do this from experience and in the interests of both sides.

The preparation, which ideally involves all contact persons, begins with an inventory of network infrastructures, processes and tools.

In the inventory, we will also ask what expectations the parties involved associate with the establishment and ongoing operation of a Managed Cyber Defence Centre? What are the "dos and don'ts"?

After the preparation, which will have taken place in various workshops, we will know the IT landscape and infrastructure details inside out.
